I joined Homes for Heroes because I managed after school programs for youth and teens in my first career. Teachers, police officers, and firefighters participated in our program development and delivery. We all watched over the communities’ children throughout the day until they were returned home safely to their families at night. Nurses, doctors, and EMT’s mended community members bodies whenever necessary. In addition, soldiers protected our borders in order for these communities to thrive. We were a part of the network that contributed to the health of the community.
After 20 years, I started a career a real estate. I searched for an avenue to express my passion for service in a unique and meaningful way. I was introduced to the Homes for Heroes program through EXIT Metro Realty, and knew, immediately, that this program was for me. It gives me the opportunity to say thank you to the people I’ve worked alongside. I know the hard work, sacrifice, and family support required for these public servants to do their jobs effectively. It is an honor to acknowledge the hard work of these Community Heroes.
