The Homes for Heroes Foundation, in conjunction with Homes for Heroes local affiliate real estate and mortgage specialists, awarded $25,000 to three first responder charitable organizations who provide disaster relief funds to help first responders in need. The NVFC Volunteer Firefighter Support Fund received a $7,500 grant to assist volunteer firefighters and EMS providers. The Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association Charitable Foundation received a $5,000 grant to support firefighters in need in the Houston area. And, the FOP Disaster Relief Fund received a $12,500 grant to support their member police officers in need. These grants are part of the Homes for Heroes first responder disaster relief fund initiatives.
NVFC Volunteer Firefighter Support Fund
With the local support of Homes for Heroes affiliate real estate specialist, Joanne Hilliard, the Homes for Heroes Foundation presented a $7,500 first responder disaster relief fund grant to the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) Volunteer Firefighter Support Fund to assist volunteer firefighters and EMS providers in their time of need. The Volunteer Firefighter Support Fund provides a stipend to volunteer responders whose homes have been impacted by a large-scale disaster or home fire to help them meet basic needs in the aftermath of the disaster.
Since 2005, the Volunteer Firefighter Support Fund has provided over $600,000 to eligible volunteer responders whose homes have been damaged or destroyed due to floods, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, or other state or federally declared disasters. The NVFC recently expanded the fund to also assist responders who have had damage to their property due to a home fire.
“We thank the Homes for Heroes Foundation for their commitment to giving back to those who serve. With this generous donation, we will be able to provide essential support to even more volunteer responders impacted by disasters,” said NVFC Chair, Steve Hirsch.
National Fraternal Order of Police Foundation
The Homes for Heroes Foundation presented a $12,500 first responder disaster relief fund grant to the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Foundation Disaster Relief efforts. The FOP Foundation helps officers who have been displaced by a disaster; who need help with food, housing and other necessities.
FOP National Secretary, Jimmy Holderfield, wrote, “Thank you for your generous contribution to the Fraternal Order of Police Foundation. Rest assured that your contribution will go a long way to help in our humanitarian efforts.”
Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association Charitable Foundation
With the local support of Homes for Heroes affiliate real estate specialist, Chasity Harris, the Homes for Heroes Foundation presented a $5,000 first responder disaster relief fund grant to the Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association Charitable Foundation to assist firefighters in need.
The Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to providing financial relief to firefighters who face extraordinary medical expenses, who experienced residential damage or losses due to natural disasters, or to the families of of firefighters lost in the Line of Duty.
Homes for Heroes Thanks First Responders at Bowl Game
Homes for Heroes, Inc., the parent company to the Homes for Heroes Foundation is a proud sponsor of the SERVPRO First Responders Bowl game. The football matchup is scheduled for 11:30 AM Central Time on December 30, 2019 at Gerald J. Ford stadium in Dallas, TX between the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and Western Michigan Broncos.
The mission is to thank American first responders for their bravery, courage and dedicated community service for arriving first at the scene of an emergency.
