A Little About Brittany B.
Brittany B. is a single mother of two young boys and a correctional officer at a prison for mentally insane inmates. To keep life in order and her children on track, Brittany works nights. This way, she can take her kids to school in the morning, catch up on sleep while they are at school and then pick them up in the afternoon. You are probably wondering where the boys go while Brittany is away at work. Thankfully, grandma takes the nightshift and the boys spend their nights with her. Brittany works very hard to give her kids everything they need to strive and live a happy life, even if it means working an opposite schedule.
Giving A Christmas Miracle
Brittany was so excited when I told her I nominated her and that she was chosen as one of Homes for Heroes®’s 12 Christmas Miracles. This year has been a hard year due to getting used to a monthly mortgage payment.
She was not sure how she was going to give her kids anything for Christmas this year. I was so overcome with excitement and joy to be able to do this for her and her kids. She had a smile on her face the entire time we were shopping for Christmas gifts for the boys, which included LEGOS, Nerf guns with extra Nerf ammo, Magic Tracks, cologne (because the seven-year-old already wants to smell nice), bath essentials, socks and four pairs of much needed tennis shoes. We also got them hooded jackets and pants for the basketball league they finally got to join so they can enjoy playing a sport with their friends.
I had so much fun shopping with my Hero and seeing the enjoyment on her face as she imagined her boys seeing their Christmas presents that Santa placed under their tree in their new home!
