My friends call me the ultimate patriot because I love our country so much. What a great opportunity anyone has available to them if they work hard and contribute to our society. I’ve been married to teacher for 34 years and have seen the dedication she has for her career. She is now retired but I remember the long nights of grading papers and preparing for the next day’s class. Her salary was not the highest compared to private sector jobs but it did not stop her. I’ve known many law enforcement and fire personnel and everyone I’ve had the pleasure to know have worked extra jobs to make ends meet. Our service men and women protect our country and put their lives on the line. They demonstrate the greatness and what our country stands for and fight against those that would destroy it. Medical people are ready at a moment’s notice and respond sometimes at great risk to themselves. The common denominator is that these giving people earn on an average less than they could in other jobs but do it anyway because they do what they love for a living.
I had the opportunity to get involved with Homes for Heroes and give something back to them and I leaped at the opportunity.
