Homes for Heroes would like to give a warm welcome to our new Affiliate, Lorraine Best!
“When Homes for Heroes® Affiliate Karen Davis from “The Mortgage House” posted on facebook that she had just completed her first closing for Homes for Heroes®, I immediately called to get more information about the program. My “hero” is my husband who served our country for 24 years. He is a retired, disabled combat veteran who fought in both the Vietnam and Gulf wars. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for the military. We have a special bond…we are family.
Service is something that comes naturally for me. Before I retired from AT&T, for years I helped sew, decorate and stuff Christmas stockings that were to be sent to our troops. When it was Girl Scout Cookie time I would buy extra cookies for Operation Thin Mints and would encourage others to do the same so that our soldiers could receive something that would remind them of home. I participate in Soldier’s Angels, volunteer at the local food bank and work at the polls every election. Now in my role as a REALTOR® I have been given the opportunity to give back to the heroes who protect, serve and support our community. It is my pleasure to do so and my way of thanking our heroes for all that they do.”
